Support Us

HOST gratefully acknowledges support received this year from individual donors and charitable Trusts.

Without their interest and financial assistance, we would not have been able to provide the opportunity for so many international students and residents of Britain to know each other.

Our Chairman, Mark Pellew, recently took two students to meet Mr Wing Yip, whose Foundation is one of HOST's sponsors, to talk about the benefit they had received from their HOST visits.

Friends of HOST

For 28 years, HOST has been working to extend the hand of friendship to international students from all over the world who come to study in the UK. Many of these students go on to be leaders of industry, senior within government or politically influential. Through our work, they are more knowledgeable about Britain and more positive about its values and culture than many other alumni. Today, more than ever, it is important to build understanding between countries and between those from different backgrounds and cultures.

By becoming a Friend of HOST, you enable us to continue to promote international friendship and understanding. We keep our Friends informed about HOST with twice-yearly newsletters.

If you would like to become a Friend of HOST and make a monthly donation, please select one of the options below. If you would like to donate a different amount, please contact HOST directly.

100 words—general

Here's an inviting opportunity!

International students at UK universities come from China,India, the USA, Africa, Europe – all over the world, in fact.

Some would love to visit a British home, make friends, find out about our way of life and share their own culture with their hosts.

HOST is a voluntary organisation arranging one-off weekend and Christmas invitations with hospitable people who see this as an interesting thing to do and a worthwhile contribution to good international relations.

Could you offer an invitation?

See or call 0207 739 6292 to be put in touch with your local organiser.

HOST's legacy

Former international students, who came to the UK and used the HOST programme in the 1980's, are now seeing their own children have the same opportunity to study in Britain and meet local people. We hope that the children of the present generation of international students in the UK will be able to do the same in 25 years' time.

If you are planning to leave a legacy to a charity in your will, please consider helping us to keep HOST going for the next generation.

This wording is all you need:
